The Norwegian- Estonian Chamber of Commerce, NECC, is a non-profit association registered in Estonia.
In 2007 the late Norwegian Ambassador Stein Vegard Hagen took the initiative inviting Paal Aschjem to discuss co-operation between the Embassy and Norwegian business people in Estonia. The first meeting of Norwegian Business Association took place on the 18th of January, 2008.
About 30 persons met up and 16 representatives signed up their companies.
The Norwegian-Estonian Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organisation joining companies and individuals. It is a non-profit and non-political organisation, which is not earning income from economic activities.
The aim of the organisation is to:
• develop activities of Norwegian enterprises in Estonia;
• promote mutual trade and cultural relations;
• support economical relations between companies and entrepreneurs in Estonia and Norway;
• support the interests of its members in various areas of activity;
• create, support and develop economical relations between companies and entrepreneurs of the said two countries;
• represent the interests of its members in communication with the Government of the Republic of Estonia; (see www.fice.ee where I am honoured of being elected the Vice Chairman).
• promote cooperation with the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and all the Chambers of Commerce established in Estonia.
Another task of NECC is to create an environment for networking and exchanging information. Together with the other Chambers we act as a meeting place by arranging seminars, business lunches, company visits, etc.
Since we are still rather small, the Board has decided that we shall concentrate on our charity project Sihtasutus Aitan Lapsi, see www.aitanlapsi.ee
After 40 days we already have had more than 10.000 people who has donated bottles for arond 10.000 EUR so we must admit it is a very positive project!
Today NECC have about 25 members and more joining us in 2011, which demonstrates that NECC is filling a definite need in the community. We still need more members so we can have more opportunities, more seminars and more fun!
The fee is 320 EUR a year and you are welcome to join us and all the opportunities that we have together with the other Chambers of Commerce in Estonia.
We hope that the various services we promote will aid your interests and we look forward to welcoming you on board as a member.
Have a nice summer.
Sincerely,
Paal Aschjem
Chairman
